Analysis and selection of real estate and workplace alternatives for regional facilities
The USDA Forest Service retained BPS for detailed analysis and selection of real estate and workplace alternatives for regional facilities located in western Colorado. On the surface, the projects involved alternatives analysis for various facility development options that address the Forest Service mission, facility needs and location, operating efficiencies and costs. BPS developed a detailed net present value (NPV) cost model which evaluated real estate and operational costs for a thirty year time frame for multiple scenarios for each of six different locations that were studied. At a more fundamental level, this engagement focused on the group decision process that BPS facilitated, resulting in a set of clear decisions supported by rigorous evaluation and documentation. The evaluation process utilized the Choosing by Advantages decision-making system developed by the Forest Service.
